Our Process

The First Call
Getting services started with Old Dominion Home Care typically begins with a phone call to our office or an e-mail requesting information. The Intake Coordinator or one of the nurses will begin the process of listening to the client or the family member to get an understanding of the type of care that is needed, as well as to gauge expectations. We will of course answer any questions you may have at this time, as well as encourage you to set up an in-home assessment.

Caregiver Selection
After the initial assessment takes place, the scheduling team meets with the nurse to review the specific client needs and expectations. This is the point where we begin the process of “matching” the best caregiver for the client.

Quality Assurance
Once caregiving services begin, we periodically conduct quality assurance phone calls and unannounced visits to our clients’ homes, as well as supervisory visits and follow-up assessments by our nursing team. Our owners are involved in each step of this process to help ensure that we exceed our clients’ expectations. Communication with our families, as well as with our caregivers in the home, is very important.

We are partners of Home Care Pulse, a third-party satisfaction research firm. Our clients, and caregivers, monthly feedback gives us confidence that we are exceeding expectations and providing consistent, quality care.

Services are available part time or up to 24/7 care every day of the year.
